Most asked questions

When did you know you wanted to become an artist?
I've always known that I wanted to become an artist ever since I was in kindergarten, so let's say at the age of five. I didn't suddenly choose one day to become an artist. I also didnt base it off of me trying to figure out what I wanted to do in the future or who I wanted to be. Painting, dancing photography… the performing, fine and visual arts has never seemed foreign to me. Art was always and forever will be in my path.

How do you come up with the concepts within your body of work.
Most of my concepts within my body of work are stemmed from the pain I have watching the outcomes of the many injustices that Black people face in my community on so many different fronts. The concepts in my body of work are also encouraged by love. They explore exactly just what love is. This is why for some of my pieces I use references of people that are in my life, in my past or simply strangers that I mean very rigorous stories. Although it would be nice to tell my own story throughout my body of work I think that's quite boring and exhausting. So simply put, my concepts come from the problems and love I am surrounded by.
